    About Us

The A'ray Justice and Peace Initiative (TAJPI) is a Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to promoting justice, peace, and environmental conservation. Established in October 2013 as a traditional tribunal, TAJPI transitioned to an NGO on April 1, 2019.

    Core Programs

    TAJPI operates several key programs:

    • Volunteering Opportunity: Supporting individuals to contribute their time, skills, and energy to help others and make a positive impact in the communities.
    • Environment Conservation: Emphasizing the importance of protecting our planet, TAJPI engages in activities like tree planting and raising awareness about environmental preservation.
    • Gender-Based Violence: Addressing the devastating impacts of violence on survivors and their families, TAJPI works to mitigate social and economic costs associated with such violence.
    • Youth Empowerment: Collaborating with community members, TAJPI advocates for youth rights, aiming to enhance their participation in decision-making processes and leadership roles.
    • Child Protection: Organizing forums to advocate for children's rights, TAJPI works closely with regional welfare offices to ensure children's rights are upheld within the court system.
    • Women Empowerment: Focusing on women's rights to property inheritance and land administration, TAJPI organizes forums to increase women's participation in decision-making and combat behaviors that infringe on their rights.
    • Promoting Justice, Peace, and Accountability: TAJPI enforces good governance by addressing obstacles to development, such as ineffective community participation and low levels of transparency and accountability.

    Values

TAJPI operates under core values including transformational change, high effectiveness, excellence, relational engagement, empowerment, and passion for their mission.

    Achievements

Since its establishment, TAJPI has implemented various projects, such as capacity-building for widows on probate and estate administration, organizing children's forums, and conducting environmental conservation activities like tree planting.

TAJPI continues to work at the grassroots level, reconciling and mediating community issues through traditional, religious, and governmental principles, all while upholding the values of justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.
