To improve the academic, mental, and physical health of North Carolina students by supporting schools to serve as hubs of community resources, with students and families as leaders positioned to influence the systems around them.

About Us
North Carolina placed 49th nationwide in recent rankings for school funding effort and 47th in overall funding level on a per-student basis compared to taxpayer income (based on data from the 2019-2020 school year). The state has a history of underinvestment in education, which has disproportionately impacted students of color and rural communities. Along with inequities in public education, other disparities affecting child well-being include food insecurity, chronic disease, housing instability, and mental health crises.
Every child in North Carolina deserves the opportunity and resources to meet their full academic potential and be prepared to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.
