  • About Us

Millions of people are quietly suffering every day. They struggle with depression, bullying, LGBTQ issues, suicidal thoughts and much more. The solution is beautifully simple. Crisis Text Line provides crisis counseling support via a medium people already use and trust: text. Being the first of our kind to collect data at scale, we use insights from our work to develop and share innovations for large-scale solutions in prevention, treatment, and long-term care.

Crisis Text Line is the first nationwide, free, 24/7 text message hotline serving people in any type of crisis. We are a nonprofit tech start-up, and started as an idea of DoSomething.org. After a successful pilot program in select cities in Fall 2013, we launched our service nationwide in 2014.
