Chicago Community Arts Studio

Chicago Community Arts Studio is a BIPOC led and focused arts organization that presents programming for all ages, backgrounds, and experiences in support of their general well-being with a focus on trauma-informed healing. We believe people should have easy to access opportunities to engage with their creativity in supportive environments. This mission reflects our understanding and experiencing of the arts as an instrument for healing and wholeness. Our Executive Director and our Board President are both practicing artists that have lived the healing power of the arts in their personal lives as well as seeing it in both school and community settings. One of the many truths that were brought forward by the pandemic was the power of the arts when people around the world turned to the arts to cope with the uncertainty of that moment. Our city is still grappling with the effects of COVID in addition to the entrenched issues that existed before hand and needs the power of the arts- to heal, to imagine a more just society and to have the tools to make the needed changes happen.
