Center on Budget and Policy Priorities

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities is a nonpartisan research organization and policy institute that conducts research and analysis on a range of government policies and programs, with an emphasis on those affecting low- and moderate-income people.

The Center blends rigorous research and analysis with activities designed to enable policymakers, nonprofit organizations at national, state and local levels, and the media to make extensive use of its work. The Center is a principal source not only of information and analysis, but also of policy ideas and strategies and other forms of assistance for many organizations working to reduce poverty. Areas of work include budget, tax, welfare, nutrition, Social Security, health care, disability, immigration, poverty, job creation, and housing policy, at both the state and federal levels.
