The Asian Pacific Fund is a community foundation established to improve the health and well-being of all Asian Americans in the Bay Area. The Fund connects donors to pressing community needs and opportunities to make a difference with their contributions. By providing services and awarding grants to more than 90 Asian organizations, the Fund also supports a broad range of local groups that help Asian Americans. These organizations serve Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Thai, Vietnamese and other Asians in the region.
Since 1993, the Fund has distributed $3.5 million in grants, scholarships and awards. It is the only organization in the Bay Area focused exclusively on working closely with Asian donors, in addition to raising funds for community agencies and public education projects, and ensuring that contributions have a lasting impact.
In recognizing the importance of staying in touch with the community to better understand its needs, the Fund launched "Growing Up Asian in America", which helped establish more visibility for the Asian community and quickly became the largest celebration of Asian Heritage Month in the nation.
A current priority for the Board of Directors is to build the Fund's endowment and to expanded capacity to manage major and planned gifts.
