The Black Girls Mental Health Foundation (The Foundation) is an integral part of our broader mission at the Black Girls Mental Health Collective (The Collective) to enhance the well-being of Black mothers. At The Foundation, we focus on systemic change through conducting advanced research and comprehensive evaluation; and through offerings of therapy vouchers for low income Black women who have limited or no access to maternal mental health services and by providing scholarships for perinatal mental health trainings for medical providers and birth workers. Our efforts will allow us, our community partners, and our scholarship recipients to directly support Black women during the perinatal period and beyond.

Founded in 2024, the Black Girls Mental Health Foundation (BGMHF) is a nonprofit dedicated to transforming maternal and mental health care for Black women and girls. We dismantle systemic barriers through culturally responsive, trauma-informed services. Our programs include:
To date, we've delivered over 20,000 hours of therapy to more than 2,000 individuals and trained nearly 100 birth workers nationwide. Through research, partnerships, and culturally responsive programming, we create sustainable change and advance mental health equity.
Join us in building a future where mental health equity isn’t just a vision-it’s a reality.
