Salem Multicultural Institute

  • About Us

The Salem Multicultural Institute (SMI) has a 17-year track record of successfully delivering year-round cultural heritage programming. What began as a grassroots effort by two moms who wanted to create a positive, tangible response to racism in the community has grown into a respected organization whose mission is to promote an appreciation and understanding of the cultural diversity in the mid-Willamette Valley.

SMI's major programs consist of the annual World Beat Festival, Gallery, and our Performance and Lecture Series.
