The Shadow Project

  • About Us

The Shadow Project is a one-of-a-kind nonprofit that partners with K-8 schools to provide evidence-based programs that help students who learn differently succeed. Students gain reading proficiency, improve academic skills, learn to manage stress in healthy ways, and build the confidence needed to succeed in school, graduate on time, and thrive as adults.

Since its founding in 2003, The Shadow Project has supported over 17,000 Portland-area children impacted by learning challenges such as ADHD, autism, and dyslexia to become confident learners, school leaders, and enthusiastic readers. We prioritize support to under-resourced communities to advance equity for students most impacted by systemic barriers to success in school and life.
