Thriving Youth Farmers Uganda

Thriving Youth Farmers Uganda (TYoFU) supports food security, youth empowerment, and the local economy of Masulita, Uganda and beyond. On rich farmland, TYoFU employs Ugandan youth to cultivate healthy food for their community, with a dream of becoming a multi-discipline vocational training and mentorship center for youth from all regions of Uganda.

Uganda is endowed with excellent growing conditions and incredibly innovative people; nonetheless, drought and oil shortages have led to food shortages and even famine. COVID-19 also accelerated the rate of unemployment in Uganda. Older youth have little recourse, and often suffer from impossible choices.

By sustaining a working farm, that boasts an incredible diversity of vegetables, fruits, dairy cows, and poulty, TYoFU will increase food security in their community. Furthermore, TYoFU will employ youth of all genders from the local community, giving the latter the the kind of stability that allows for both personal and professional development. By partnering with other established institutions in the fields of environment, design, agriculture, leadership skills, and more, TYoFU will ultimately also serve as a center for vocational training and empowerment for a much broader group of youth.
