  • About Us

Muyuna Foundation (MF) is a Peruvian Non-profit organization dedicated in strengthening river-side communities part of the communal conservation reserve called Tamishaycu-Tahuayo in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. We're seeking for teachers, social workers, camp counselors, teaching retirees, and all types of educational enthusiasts motivated in sustaining a long-term initiative orientated around academic reinforcement for high school students in rural Peru.

We invite you to apply to join our complimentary educational project as a tutor and participate in the second year of the extracurricular tutoring program and be part of our efforts in strengthening students towards their assigned academic level. Currently, as well as many other places around the world because of COVID-19, students in rural Amazonian communities are performing at a level under their respective academic grade level. Currently, we are undergoing an extracurricular tutoring program guiding students through rigorous reinforcement of their present educational standing through a model called learning by projects "aprendizaje por proyectos."

The volunteering experience provides food and lodging. Bungalows tucked in the middle of the jungle off of an Amazonian River tributary, Rio Yanayacu, with screened-in porches facing the jungle or the river give a unique lifestyle for volunteers. Founded in 2023 by Muyuna Ecolodge, the NGO provides a touristic platform for visitors to actively fund the social program through a social enterprise model and also fund other prevalent socioenvironmental issues in nearby rural communities help tackle.
