Mission:

Powerlight Development Foundation is dedicated to empowering women, children, and youth in underserved communities through education, health initiatives, and economic opportunities. Our mission is to create sustainable solutions that uplift and transform lives, enabling individuals to break cycles of poverty and achieve their full potential.

Whom We Serve:

We focus on underserved communities in and around Arusha, Tanzania, including:

• Women facing economic challenges, providing vocational training and entrepreneurship support through initiatives like Mama’s Hub.
• Children in need of education and safe learning environments, with programs such as Powerlight Daycare and school renovation projects.
• Girls lacking access to menstrual hygiene products and education through our Menstrual Hygiene Health project.
• Youth through capacity-building projects that promote skills development and sustainable livelihoods.

Our Impact Areas:

• Education: Providing daycare services, renovating schools, and offering workshops for both students and teachers.
• Health: Ensuring menstrual hygiene for schoolgirls and promoting first aid training through the Afya Kwanza Initiative.
• Economic Empowerment: Supporting women with vocational skills and mentorship to build sustainable businesses.
• Water Access: Addressing clean water challenges with the Maji Safi Village Project, which delivers water filters to underserved areas.
