    In 1975, The Highlands Historical Society, a non-profit organization formed to preserve, restore, and interpret the historic mansion and grounds from 1794 to the present. The Highlands Historical Society exists to educate our community about the history and evolution of a Pennsylvania country estate by utilizing comprehensive period documents detailing estate life from the 18th through the 20th century. To serve its mission within the community, it obtains funding solely through membership, donations, grants, and event revenue.
