  • About Us

Great Works Regional Land Trust (GWRLT) protects forests, farms, and water quality in Southern Maine. For over 35 years, our grassroots nonprofit organization has worked to conserve over 7,000 acres of significant land, offering 20 preserves and counting with over 30 miles of trails for vigorous hikes or gentle strolls.

GWRLT’s mission is to conserve the value of the area’s natural, historic, agricultural, forestry, scenic, and recreational resources.

We pursue this mission by holding property and conservation easements where these values are present; managing and monitoring the lands we hold for protection; and promoting the need and importance of conservation through education and outreach.
