    About Us

Founded in 1991 in San Antonio, Texas, the SLC is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities of all ages. We utilize innovative approaches such as Hippotherapy, which incorporates horseback riding as a therapeutic and rehabilitative treatment, and Therapeutic Riding, which focuses on riding skills to improve physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.

Volunteers are crucial to our operations. Not only do they help keep costs down—but their enthusiasm, compassion, and talents create an environment of acceptance, respect, friendliness, and safety at the SLC.
