  • About Us

In 1980, domestic violence (DV) service providers created The Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women’s Network to exchange information about local resources for DV survivors and to share best practices in responding to their needs. Later renamed The Network: Advocating Against Domestic Violence, it still maintains the grassroots focus of its early years, but it is now a coalition of 39 DV member organizations serving DV victims from across Chicago and the Cook County region. The Network’s mission is to educate, organize, and advocate as a collaborative membership organization to end domestic violence, with a vision to eradicate domestic violence and its underlying causes in oppression.
