Austin Free Press (AFP) is a digital, non-profit media outlet providing in-depth reporting on crucial Austin issues. Our mission is to empower Austinites to make informed decisions through independent, non-partisan reporting, diverse opinions, and civil dialogue. We believe that a strong local press is essential for a healthy community and functioning democracy. We investigate crucial local issues, from the Silicon Hills and population growth, to affordability, homelessness, displaced communities, environment, and political misconduct. We engage the community, seek out underrepresented voices, seek to understand challenges, and explore solutions that might let all Austinites thrive.
