  • About Us

Insurance Knowledge Evolution (IKE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of youth through education, internships, and volunteerism within the insurance and financial industries. Our mission is to introduce and connect young people to these fields, fostering the skills and enthusiasm needed to address the upcoming career and professional opportunities.

In June 2021, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce released the America Works Report, highlighting a looming crisis in the insurance industry. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of insurance professionals aged 55 and older has increased by 74% over the past decade. This demographic shift will result in over 400,000 open positions over the next 15 years as 50% of the workforce retires. The industry's struggle to attract younger workers is evident—less than 25% of insurance professionals are under 35. With this forecasted talent shortage, insurers fiercely compete for qualified talent, as the industry's unemployment rate remains significantly below the national average. This growing demand for talent, coupled with a lack of interest from younger generations, creates an urgent need for organizations like Insurance Knowledge Evolution (IKE) to inspire and guide marginalized youth toward careers in the insurance and financial industries.

The IKE Programs will primarily target minority youth aged 14 to 18, encompassing middle school and high school students. These critical years provide an opportunity to lay a strong foundation for financial literacy and career exploration, ensuring that young individuals possess the necessary knowledge and skills to have fulfilling careers.
