  • About Us

The Leatherback Trust (TLT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the leatherback sea turtle. TLT seeks to improve protection for sea turtles, particularly the critically endangered leatherback.

We operate a field research station in Las Baulas National Park in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica at Playa Grande, the last high-density nesting beach for the critically endangered Eastern Pacific leatherback sea turtle, a population which has declined by 98 percent over the last two decades.
