About Us
The California Center for Movement Legal Services (Movement Legal) provides legal services in the pursuit of improving the lives of California's traditionally underserved residents, including communities of color, low-income and working families, and undocumented people, by carrying out legal work that fosters organic leadership development, policy creation, robust civic participation, and broad community empowerment through community organizing. For four years, we have crafted novel legislation based on community needs, brought impact cases out of community organizing campaigns, and advised and defended the tenant movement in court.
