    JSTOR, an independent not-for-profit organization located in New York, NY, is a large-scale undertaking to build an electronic archive of scholarly journals and to improve dramatically access to this material. To date, JSTOR has converted over 9 million pages from 242 journal titles from print to digital form. In all of its activities, JSTOR promotes a system-wide perspective, balancing the needs of publishers, libraries and scholars. Presently, more than 170 publishers and nearly 1,400 academic libraries worldwide have signed on as participants in this endeavor. JSTOR is headquartered in New York, with satellite offices in Princeton, NJ and Ann Arbor, MI. We also maintain a mirror site in Manchester, England.
