    the decision-makers among statewide grassroots movements empowering Arizonan

    families.

    network, CORAZÓN creates change on a local, state, and national level. The

    heartbeat and life of our organizing work is to build and support faith-based

    member institutions, diverse beliefs, and traditions as we fight for social, racial, and

    economic dignity with a welcoming and inclusive prophetic voice. We believe in and

    MISSION:

    • Cultivate and foster an organizational culture where people of vast faith traditions feel welcomed and safe to take action to improve our democracy to achieve Health and Wellness, Economic Dignity, and Immigrant Justice, and can participate civically.
    • Centering and listening to Black, Indigenous, Latinx leaders, faith and lay people and impacted community members on our local neighborhood issues and ideas that they have been identified to matter most.
    • Advocating and co-creating for state and federal policies through intentional campaigns uplifting our moral voices to bring about systemic change for Arizonans centering race equity.
    • Educate, train and equip people with tools to improve democracy within communities

    CORAZÓN seeks a full-time Community Organizer to engage with diverse faith

    traditions, communities of color, and institutions to advocate locally and nationally.

    The job specifically requires base building and educating the community about

    the issues within immigration. The Community Organizer will recruit and build

    teams of community leaders throughout Arizona to drive CORAZON’s Abundance

    and Dignity For All campaign on immigration and economic dignity.

    No past organizing experience is required of the applicant; however, the applicant

    must be a dedicated and hardworking individual that is passionate about

    immigration, civic engagement, and social and economic justice and is willing to

    create community-led efforts to make a change in their community. The applicant

    must also have a driver's license and access to a cell phone. Bilingual applicants

    (English and Spanish) are preferred.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with the Leadership Development Manager to manage, design, and implement the campaign report and have regular check-ins with the Organizing Director.
    • Conduct weekly and monthly meetings with leaders and coalition members
    • Train faithful leaders who will build neighborhood/ House of Worship teams to drive CORAZON’s Immigration campaigns/ our immigration efforts, including in-person & virtual actions, events, phone banks, etc.
    • Train leaders on tactics to engage and successfully maintain an accurate database of both volunteer involvement and member leadership development.
    • Identify and build relationships with potential allies and community partners to help execute goals.
    • Other duties as assigned

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    We seek candidates with excellent relationship-building skills, who are

    outcome-driven, with strong and diverse immigration advocacy skills. Ideal

    candidates should have demonstrated experience in the following:

    • A commitment to social and racial justice issues and understanding of challenges facing the immigrant community in Arizona and the US
    • Experience building and teaching leader teams
    • Work driving projects and programs to completion
    • Familiarity with political data, the latest technologies, and best practices
    • Comfort with the implementation of a range of organizing strategies and tactics, including but not limited to Know Your Rights, Rapid Response, Detention Defense, phone banking, canvassing and tabling.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills with a results-focused approach
    • Ability to work well with diverse groups and populations
    • Dedication and ability to work flexible hours
    • Spanish/English bilingual preferred but not required

    Working Conditions:

    This job operates both in a professional office environment and in outdoor and

    indoor public spaces, and the person will be exposed to outdoor elements such as

    precipitation, wind, and high/low temperatures. This position is occasionally

    sedentary; however, attending meetings and canvassing out in the communities is

    also frequently required. The person in the position will frequently be expected to

    move about to accomplish tasks and move between sites. This position routinely

    uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and

    audiovisual systems. The person in this position frequently communicates with

    community members and must be able to exchange accurate information. Ability to

    work evening and weekend hours as needed; ability and willingness to travel in the

    state or nationally for up to 30% of the time.

    Schedule and Location: Shared office space in the Town of Guadalupe with some

    nights and weekends required.

    Compensation:

    This position is a full-time role in our $55,000- $62,000 salary range. Benefits include

    health care, dental, vision, 401k, sick leave, paid family medical leave and vacation

    time.
