    Artisan's Asylum seeks a full-time Development Director to manage day to day oversight of the development and implementation of fundraising strategies. The ideal candidate will have the ability to solve problems creatively and thoroughly, show consistent curiosity about and kindness toward others, a strong capacity for maintaining attention to detail across varied projects, deep respect for artists and maker culture, and a willingness to grow. This role requires the ability to effectively prioritize the use of time within a flexible atmosphere and extended team of staff, members, and volunteers.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Working closely with the Executive Director the Development Director’s role is to ensure that the organization has a development strategy and plan which includes, but is not limited to individual giving, foundations, corporate sponsorship and community philanthropy.

    • Manage the grant process from writing proposals to reporting on outcomes, and ensuring

    compliance with funder reporting requirements.

    • Conduct research on potential donors, assist in donor reporting, and ensure proper

    recognition of donors.

    • Maintain and update donor database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of donor

    information.

    • Assist in developing and implementing campaigns to attract individual donors and increase donor engagement.
    • Support the creation of development materials in print and digital form.
    • Assist in compiling data and preparing reports to demonstrate the impact of donations and programs.
    • Help secure sponsorships for our annual Donor Dinner and Gala, working closely with potential sponsors to align their interests with our event goals.
    • Coordinate with organizational leadership to develop and implement fundraising strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
    • Maintain relationships with funding partners and explore opportunities for collaboration and support.
    • Work closely with our Education Department to oversee the implementation of funded programs.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    1. Annual Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience

    This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required:

    1. Experience working in an innovation or arts environment, or a community-centered space
    2. Demonstrated strong interest in the arts, maker, and culture sectors
    3. 3 plus years development experience with demonstrated successes in donor/sponsor/grant generation and management
    4. Demonstrated capacity for independent and collaborative work
    5. Demonstrated capacity for the management of multiple and varied projects with different delivery timelines
    6. Skilled in English written and verbal communication
    7. Strong organizational skills
    8. General computer and software literacy, focusing on CRMS
    9. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent accomplishment
