    Description

    Help build the social justice movement in new ways with new people in new places. Support organic leaders building grassroots working class organizing campaigns in key terrain all across the country. Using cutting-edge Online to Offline organizing methodology, bringing hundreds of new hardworking people into the fight for justice. Manage the generation of online leads, track their progress, and create systems that automate and integrate tools for maximum efficiency and output. Join a new formation of seasoned organizers and political strategists committed to focusing on building the leadership of working people in places written off by most of the progressive sector. We are looking for someone who is excited about building power for hardworking people in new ways & places, and has the drive, self direction and digital/data skills to help manage the effort to make it a reality.

    Organization: Addition (a fiscally sponsored project of Tides Center) was founded in 2022 by long-time organizers to help seed a new field of community organizing that could engage people who were often overlooked by, or would not fit in with, much of our current sector. We do this through incubating new working-class organizing projects from scratch, training a generation of organizers how to do good organizing that resonates with a broad range of people, and storytelling that demonstrates what is possible when we engage beyond those we already see eye to eye with on all things.

    Location: Remote. Periodic travel is required (once a quarter).

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Lead in the implementation and innovation of the tech, data and digital tools necessary to reach, track and activate thousands of working class people in a variety of places, around a variety of issues and through different formations;
    • Use these systems and processes, on a daily basis, to grow the number of people engaged; work to expand this base;
    • Work with the Senior Organizing Strategists and others to develop and carry out campaign plans that mobilize this online & offline base;
    • Work with core of engaged leaders to identify and engage more supporters through online strategies
    • Develop visual and written content for distribution across multiple channels including social media posts & ad buys, blogs, email campaigns and our websites;
    • Manage the organization’s database, digital tools, social media pages and other outreach mechanisms;
    • Manage the member data involved in this Online<->Offline work

    Experience and Technical Skills:

    • 5+ years of digital organizing
    • Proficient in member databases and outreach tools such as Action Network, P2P texting platforms, Predictive dialer systems, and VAN
    • Proficient in social media outreach to target populations through organic and paid content
    • Excellent online writing skills providing content for programs; writing copy as needed for
    • emails, online ads, video scripts and websites
    • Strong understanding of issues facing working class people across race
    • Ability to work well with diverse groups and populations, especially people who may have complicated view on certain issues
    • Able to work independently and drive projects and programs to completion in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
    • Basic HTML and CSS a plus
    • Experience in campaign communications a plus
