CLF invests in climate justice initiatives in the Caribbean & United States and helps communities prepare for and withstand natural disasters.     Job Summary:

    We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Board Liaison. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring effective communication and coordination between the Board, Committees, and the Executive Director. Your responsibilities will include managing various administrative tasks, facilitating meetings, and supporting special projects to enhance the overall governance and operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and attention to detail skills while also being strategic, adaptable, and open to experimentation in response to emergent circumstances. You will need impeccable people skills, enabling you to build and maintain diverse relationships in culturally varied settings and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.

    Comfortable and confident working independently and remotely, you will thrive within a highly collaborative virtual team, contributing to a dynamic context that supports the organization’s mission and objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Administrative and Information Management – 50%

    • Coordinate virtual and in person meetings.
    • Prepare and design written communications and presentations for internal and external audiences including the Board, partners and others, that includes background research and data analysis needed.
    • Coordinate Board and Committee meeting agendas, updates and briefings and compile supporting materials.
    • Ensure timely handling of all governance matters, including follow-up on action items from meetings.
    • Act as a key point of contact for Board Members, addressing inquiries in a timely manner and providing necessary information.
    • Attend Board and Committee Meetings, take high quality notes and prepare final meeting minutes for distribution.
    • Manage the Board Portal to facilitate efficient communication and document sharing.
    • Coordinate Support the planning of Board meetings, retreats and events in collaboration with the CLF Team.
    • Assist the CLF Team with various administrative tasks, including scheduling and travel logistics.

    Governance- 25%

    • Collaborate with the Board and Executive Director on special projects related to philanthropic initiatives.
    • Lead the CLF team with various administrative tasks, including scheduling and travel logistics.
    • Identify and introduce best practices in philanthropic governance to enhance organizational effectiveness.

    Communications and Support- 25%

    • Contribute to the development of communications materials such as annual reports and impact updates.

    • Conduct meeting preparation and research as needed.
    • Support the maintenance of CLF documents and records.
    • Stay informed about current events and news coverage within CLF's issue areas.
    • Provide event and special project support as required.
    • Engage with donors, partners, and grantees to strengthen community relationships, as requested.
    • Conduct research projects as needed.
    • Maintain CLF’s CRM system.

    Essential Knowledge, Skills, Ability and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in project management are a plus.
    • Proven experience in board liaison or executive support roles.
    • Proven Experience managing multiple projects, communications, meetings, deadlines and presentations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
    • Skilled in managing digital calendars, coordinating across teams, leveraging social media, troubleshooting software issues, using cloud-based collaboration tools, and proficient in CRM systems to enhance productivity and efficiency.
    • Strong expertise in the use of various software and a high level of computer literacy (MS Office Suite, Google Apps, instant messaging and virtual team collaboration software such as Slack and utilize the company’s board management platform
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Familiarity with philanthropic governance practices.
