    The Operations team at the Double H Ranch is dedicated to delivering programs that foster safe, fun, and empowering experiences for our campers and their families. Through teamwork, creativity, and a shared commitment to our mission, we strive to create an environment where every camper can thrive.

    The Behavioral Support Manager plays an essential role in this effort, ensuring a welcoming and supportive space for all campers by overseeing behavior management, providing hands-on support, and facilitating effective communication with families and staff.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Behavioral Support Manager is a year-round, full-time, responsible for managing camper behavior, conducting data-driven analysis, training staff, and collaborating with the camp psychologist to ensure optimal experience for campers.

    This position includes a mix of remote and on-site work, with a residential requirement during summer sessions and occasional weekend programs.

    The work schedule typically follows a Monday-Friday, 8–4 or 9–5 format during the off-season, but may vary based on program needs. During the summer and family programs, the schedule will align with camp programming and will be a residential position.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Year-Round Responsibilities

    • Act as an active member of the full-time program team, attending planning meetings and contributing to program development.
    • Review camper applications to assess behavioral needs and prepare for individualized support.
    • Collaborate with the camp psychologist to create and implement behavior plans as necessary.
    • Analyze data on camper behavior to identify trends and inform training or program improvements.
    • Coordinate family communication regarding camper needs, behavior concerns, and support plans during all seasons of camp and programming.
    • Participate in recruitment events and contribute to volunteer/staff onboarding and training.
    • Assist with other non-program events, such as fundraisers and outreach initiatives.
    • Return phone calls and emails in a timely manner (48-72 hours)
    • Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

    Training and Support

    • Plan and deliver staff training sessions focused on behavior management, trauma-informed practices, and crisis intervention.
    • Supervise and coach summer staff in behavior support strategies and communication techniques.
    • Collaborate with the Operations team to maintain standards set by the Double H Ranch, ACA, and other regulatory bodies.

    Summer Camp Responsibilities

    • Provide hands-on behavior support for campers, responding to escalated situations as needed.
    • Residential for the entirety of the summer program schedule
    • Supervise, train, and evaluate seasonal staff on effective behavior management techniques.
    • Assist in creating a safe and inclusive cabin environment, ensuring camper needs are met.
    • Document incidents, track camper progress, and share relevant data with families and the program team.

    Adaptive Winter Sports Program Responsibilities

    • Residential for weekend programs
    • Develop behavior plans for campers and maintain open communication with families before and after their camp experience.

    Fall and Spring Family Program Responsibilities

    • Residential for weekend programs
    • Develop behavior plans for campers and maintain open communication with families before and after their camp experience.

    Family and Community Engagement

    • Act as a primary point of contact for families regarding camper behavior.
    • Foster positive relationships with campers, families, and staff to ensure open communication and trust.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience, Education and Licensure

    • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in residential camping, youth programming, or a similar field.
    • Proven ability to handle behavioral challenges in a supportive, trauma-informed manner.
    • Experience training and supervising staff, including providing feedback and performance management.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with experience in data management and trend analysis.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, and virtual communication tools.

    Pay: $55,000.00 - $63,300.00 per year
