    About the Ecosystem Development Team

    Catalyst Now offers the opportunity to work with colleagues from various countries, and to challenge themselves within the context of a vibrant and growing organisation. The ideal candidate has a background in international relations / affairs, international law, international development, social sciences, social innovation, social entrepreneurship or similar.

    The Ecosystem Development Team of Catalyst Now works with the different members of the network in supporting them with their initiatives in the different countries and regions all around the world. We are currently looking for a coordinator that can support the local activities in south and central Asia. The coordinator will be working closely with the Asia Pacific coordinator and with the whole Ecosystem Development Team and the other departments in the secretariat.

    Scope of the work

    We are currently recruiting for an Asian Chapters Coordinator to help organise a variety of initiatives that are commencing around the world as part of this movement with a focus on South and Central Asia particularly. This role requires collaboration with the Catalyst Now network membership, so you will need to be able to engage key stakeholders to work towards common goals within a complex international structure, cultural nuances and sensitivities. You will be able to foster a deep understanding of the challenges faced by social entrepreneurs around the world, and deploy your expert relationship skills to demonstrate and communicate the future narrative of the collective movement. In addition, you have excellent English language skills, both written and spoken and fluency in at least one of the other 6 official UN languages is an asset. You are familiar with the SDGs and social entrepreneurs and able to coordinate between several chapters and stakeholders.

    Key responsibilities

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Coordinate and support several initiatives and tasks from members within the chapter with a focus on impact investment and oriented funding, cross-sector collaboration, systems change in general, social entrepreneurship and the SDGs
    • Coordinate/support internal and external activities (local or international meetings, travel and other logistics, drafting and editing of minutes, presentations, partners communications via email or telephone etc)
    • Assist in producing and editing diverse documents, in different languages
    • Update and prepare overviews, Salesforce and various documents, etc
    • Update and manage the diverse communication platforms used by the chapters, website, Whatsapp, Gdrive.
    • Support the coordination of the different regional and country approaches of the movement
    • Ensure good representation in the region, mapping areas and SDGs engagement
    • Report to the chapter coordinator on a weekly basis and work in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Coordinator.
    • Ensure the correct management of the membership data and information.
    • Support the Membership department with onboarding members from South and Central Asia with due diligence, connecting and guiding new members within the chapters
    • Ensure multilingual components are available and translate documents as needed
    • Any other ad hoc tasks as requested and a being willing to be flexible when required

    Qualifications and experience

    • At least 3-5 years of professional and relevant experience.
    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong interest in the SDG’s sustainability, systemic change and social entrepreneurship
    • An active interest in global issues and challenges, their complexity and nuances. And Strong interest and familiarity in the regional issues of Asia.
    • Ability to work in a multicultural, global environment and demonstrate cultural sensitivity
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and across time zones, and a willingness to learn from experience
    • Ability to manage time effectively and to adapt to changing environments
    • Desire to work collaboratively, with a positive attitude and ability to rise to challenges
    • Fluency in English and another language (Spanish, French, Portuguese or Arabic), other languages would be an asset e.g. Russian, Chinese etc. a plus
    • Hands-on attitude, flexibility and ability to adapt to new tasks and a willingness to help out when required
    • Excellent people and networking skills

    Job location

    • This position is remote and can be carried out from most regions that have 4-6 hours overlap with CET working hours.
