    Description

    Join our summer camp staff as our health provider (RN or EMT required) and help to create a community that makes our ideals a reality. Openness, acceptance of differences and deep caring for children is required. Unirondack is a queer-friendly space that welcomes individuals of all backgrounds. Our Medical Director must be affirming and familiar with trans patients and healthcare needs.

    This is a summer position running from the end of June until the end of August. The Health Provider must be an exceptionally responsible person who meets the requirements of the NYS Department of Health for an on-site medical director for a children's summer camp.

    Certification and licensure as an EMT or RN in NYS is required.

    Summer duties include responding to medical emergencies, daily care for ill or injured children and staff members, dispensing of medication, and educating the camp community about preventative health care. Ability to maintain a daily medical log in accordance with the NYS Health Department regulations.

    A person with dedication, patience, warmth, maturity, and a sense of humor is preferred.

    On-site accommodations and 3 meals per day are provided, plus unlimited access to our fully stocked camp kitchen for additional food/snacks. Employees have full access to our facilities, including an art studio, recording studio, workspaces, office, game room, sports equipment, athletic field, musical instruments, library, camping gear, lake access with a beach, canoes, kayaks and sailboats, and beautiful views of the Adirondack landscape. Many free hiking, camping and boating areas are located within a few minutes of camp. Travel reimbursements are available.
