    We are currently hiring for a Grants Manager based in Austin, Houston, Dallas, or Fort Worth, Texas.

    Position Summary

    The Grants Manager will oversee all aspects of grant development, administration, and management throughout the grant lifecycle for grants awarded and received, from pre-award proposal development to post-award administration and closeout. This position will ensure compliance with grant provisions, regulations, reporting requirements and organizational policies. Additionally, the Grants Manager will verify that funds are being allocated properly, and compile and submit any data required by grant funders.

    Physical/Mental Requirements

    • Uses personal computer approximately 6-7 hours per day.
    • Uses telephone and email to communicate with potential funders, DRTx staff, and other professionals, approximately 3-5 hours per day.
    • Spends approximately 1-3 hours per day in meetings.
    • Sits approximately 6-7 hours per day.
    • Requires working under moderate to high degree of stress (being responsible for identifying and expanding funding opportunities to further the DRTx mission, ensuring processes and procedures are in place to implement the projects, and keeping up with the status of the grant programs, including ensuring reporting and other obligations are met, as well as managing time constraints, deadlines and multi-tasking high-level projects).

    Essential Functions

    • Manage the administration of grant activity throughout the grant lifecycle and ensure compliance with grant provisions, regulations, and reporting requirements.
    • In partnership with executive leadership, the Grants Manager will develop and implement effective grant management processes and protocols.
    • Develop and oversee tracking procedures and templates for grant projects, to ensure compliance, data collection, required documentation, and accurate reporting.
    • Identify and assess the organizational needs and research new funding opportunities to address needs.
    • Ensure successful grant writing, application development, and submission for new and recurring funding.
    • Ensure that the organization follows accounting and reporting best practices and complies with legal requirements.
    • Build and maintain effective communication with staff and funders to meet deadlines and deliverables.
    • Collect and analyze feedback received from funders to improve future funding applications.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other related field of study.
    • A minimum of five years of grant management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
    • Strong analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to provide leadership in the oversight and monitoring of projects.
    • Ability to set schedules and coordinate contract requirements among multiple departments.
    • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Experience applying for, receiving and monitoring federal awards, contracts, subrecipient and other non-federal awards.
    • Proven ability to manage numerous initiatives in order to meet deadlines and to deliver high-quality outputs, including the ability to prioritize work priorities in response to needs.
    • Demonstrated ability to work under tight and/or changing timelines.
    • Excellent communication (written, verbal, interpersonal) skills.
    • Proven track record of delegating appropriate tasks.
    • Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to unexpected issues and problem solve.
    • Proven ability to take direction and independently follow through on all instructions.
    • Excellent attention to detail, follow-up skills and organizational skills plus.
    • Must have proven track record of multi-tasking and work under challenging conditions while meeting deadlines.
