EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated full time Senior Development Manager to join the External Affairs team.

    Salary: $85,000-$100,000/ Annually

    Schedule: 8AM-4PM with flexibility to work from home

    Location: Garden City, NY

    Reports to: Chief External Affairs Officer

    What drives the core purpose of this job:

    The Senior Development Manager, SDM, works cooperatively with the Chief External Affairs Officer to raise funds through events, grants, foundations, individuals, and corporations. The SDM is a member of the Development Team and is a liaison between the agency and its donors. The SDM is responsible for cultivating the agency’s current list of active donors and creating new opportunities with individuals, corporations, foundations, and community stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring expertise and experience in fundraising, donor solicitation, event planning, grant & foundation writing, relationship building, project management, and implementation of data-driven fundraising strategies.

    What are the key Responsibilities:

    1. Fundraising & Event Planning
      • Support the Chief External Affairs Officer in implementing the organization’s fundraising strategy to increase revenue via annual events, special events, publicity, grants, and fundraising initiatives.
      • Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events, including the agency’s annual Building Bridges Gala and Golf for Good outing. Lead liaison for event planning committees.
      • Solicit donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, and community stakeholders.
      • Cultivate and steward relationships with current funders, donors, and key stakeholders.
      • Identify and steward relationships with new funders, donors, and key stakeholders.
      • Develop content for donor communications, including newsletters, campaigns, annual reports, and social media.
      • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the agency’s fundraising initiatives.
      • Ensure acknowledgement of funders via event publications, websites, newsletters, and social media. Maintain accurate records of donor pledges and contact information.
      • Facilitate internal and external volunteer opportunities for the agency’s events and programs.
      • Prepare departmental event budgets and track expenditures within budget.
    2. Grant and Foundation Management
      • Research and identify grant opportunities from government, corporation, and foundation sources to meet agency needs, expand programs, and increase revenue.
      • Write compelling grant proposals and funding applications that align with the agency’s mission and strategic priorities.
      • Manage the grant calendar, ensuring all deadlines for proposals, reports, and renewals are met.
      • Collaborate with program staff to gather data, success stories, and metrics for proposals and reports.
      • Use program data, staff/client testimonials, and real-life examples to tell the story of the agency’s impact and results for publicity, quality assurance, grants, and reporting.
      • Maintain accurate records of grant activities, reporting requirements, and funder communications.

    What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:

    1. 3-5 years of development experience in grant writing, event planning, and fundraising. Ability to organize major fundraising events and apply for major grants and sponsorships.
    2. Must be able to attend agency events- this person acts as a salesperson for EAC Network. Some evening/weekend hours required for events and meetings.
    3. Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills, in addition to excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
    4. Ability to communicate clearly and engage/influence others via grant proposals, phone, email, and in person. Eagerness to make cold calls, research, and meet with prospective supporters to tell the EAC story and secure community partners, donors, and grant opportunities.
    5. Strong administrative skills and self-motivated, with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in an effective and efficient manner. Able to work independently and as a team. Must maintain strict confidentiality of client, agency, and donor information.
    6. Proficiency in computer applications and online systems such as Microsoft Office, DonorPerfect, Instrumentl, Constant Contact, Authorize.net, spreadsheets, calendar, email, and database software necessary to perform work assignments.
    7. Possession of valid New York State driver’s license and access to an automobile for local travel and some work outside of business hours.
