    Job Overview

    U4I is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Grant Manager to lead all aspects of our federal and foundational grants program. The Manager will be responsible for managing the full grant lifecycle, from identifying and applying for grant opportunities to ensuring compliance and submitting required reports. This role requires excellent writing skills, strong organizational skills, in-depth knowledge of federal grant procedures, and a strategic approach to securing new funding.

    Responsibilities

    1. Grant Submission and Compliance: Lead the process of identifying, preparing, and submitting federal grant applications. Ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and in compliance with federal regulations.
    2. Reporting: Prepare and submit quarterly and annual narrative reports detailing project progress, milestones, and financial expenditures as per grant requirements.
    3. Grant Research and Analysis: Conduct ongoing research to identify new federal, state, and private grant opportunities relevant to the organization’s mission. Analyze eligibility and alignment to pursue viable options.
    4. Grant Management: Oversee the post-award grant administration, ensuring funds are allocated and utilized in alignment with the grant’s guidelines. Track timelines, budgets, and deliverables for each grant.
    5. Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact between the organization, awarding agencies, and partners. Ensure communication is clear, professional, and responsive.
    6. Record-Keeping and Organization: Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all grant-related documentation, including application documents, communications, compliance records, and reporting requirements.
    7. Copy Editing and Proofreading: Review all grant proposals and reports for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with organizational standards. Ensure high-quality, error-free documentation.
    8. Working with Foundations and Private Grants: Collaborate with foundations and private grant funders, submitting applications and ensuring compliance with varying guidelines.

    Required Skills

    1. Knowledge of Federal Grant Processes: Demonstrated understanding of federal grant application processes, reporting requirements, and post-award management.
    2. Prior Experience with Foundations: Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with private foundations and submit applications and progress reports.
    3. Project Management: Strong project management skills to handle multiple grants with overlapping timelines and deliverables.
    4. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing application guidelines, preparing documentation, and managing reporting processes.
    5. Copy Editing and Proofreading: Skill in reviewing and refining proposals and reports for grammatical accuracy, coherence, and impact.
    6. Research Abilities: Proficiency in independently researching new funding opportunities, grant guidelines, and compliance changes.
    7. Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills (writing, editing, proofreading), with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, federal agency representatives, and external partners.
    8. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to maintain detailed records and track multiple projects simultaneously.
    9. Technical Skills: Proficiency with grant management software, Microsoft Office Suite, Google WorkStation, and data management systems.

    Qualifications

    1. 4+ years of proven track record in conceptualizing, drafting, editing, proofreading, and submitting successful grant proposals
    2. 3+ years of experience managing federal grants, including submission, reporting, and compliance.
    3. Familiarity with federal funding agencies and online grant application portals (e.g., MyGrants).
    4. Knowledge of federal regulations, including 2 CFR 200.
    5. Experience with budgeting, financial management, and reporting within a grant framework.

    Technical Requirements

    Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: The applicant must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.
