    Description

    Purpose

    The Development Coordinator serves to enhance the organization’s capacity to meet its fundraising goals and expand its impact within the community. By fostering meaningful relationships with donors and supporting strategic development initiatives, the Development Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of the organization’s programs and services. This position not only contributes to immediate fundraising efforts but also helps build a foundation for long-term donor engagement and organizational success.

    This position involves coordinating various development activities, managing donor relationships, and assisting in the planning and execution of fundraising events. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director to enhance donor engagement and support the organization’s mission through effective communication and outreach strategies.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Conduct research on foundations, corporations, and government agencies, including application requirements and deadlines.
    • Manage the full lifecycle of grant proposal development, from drafting to submission, ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Research, develop, and cultivate relationships with potential funding partners (private foundations, corporations, government entities).
    • Identify and establish new sponsors for the organization, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission.
    • Track and report on fundraising progress, donor engagement metrics, and grant outcomes.

    Key Activities

    • Facilitate communication with potential sponsors, partners, and donors, including cultivation and stewardship efforts.
    • Manage the donor and grants database, ensuring accurate records of contributions, interactions, and reporting deadlines.
    • Maintain and update information on prospective donors and sponsors, including grant deadlines and requirements.
    • Assist with the preparation of program and financial reports for funders, ensuring compliance with grant terms.
    • Collect and analyze post-event or post-grant feedback to inform future strategies and improve donor engagement.

    Desirable Knowledge and Skills

    • Proficiency in Google Suite and experience using other workplace software such as Adobe, Slack, and Canva.
    • Strong background in non-profit development, fundraising, and grant writing.
    • Excellent research, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to write compelling proposals.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with staff across departments.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with attention to detail and clarity.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • B.A. degree or higher from an accredited college or university
    • Passion and interest in L.O.V.E.’s empowerment mission
    • Demonstrated competency working with diverse and under-resourced communities
    • Ability to pass a background check

    Benefits and Compensation:

    • Pay range $65k-$80k. Commensurate with the candidate's experience
