    Description

    This is a part time position that serves within the Advancement and External Relations Department at Fishing Partnership Support Services. The Marketing and Social Media Coordinator possesses a broad understanding of social media trends and best practices and will amplify the organization’s messaging to a variety of audiences. This position works closely with all departments at Fishing Partnership and supports the VP, Advancement and External Relations with the creation and delivery of marketing materials to support programmatic deliverables and strategic initiatives and supports the efficient and smooth operation of the Advancement and External Relations Department.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Social Media Outreach

    • In collaboration and consultation with various Fishing Partnership departments, create, write and schedule engaging social media posts and content across platforms maintaining a posting schedule of at least 2x/week.
    • Work with an outsourced web design team to manage and keep the website current.
    • Track, analyze, and report social media trends to inform strategy adjustments.
    • Manage all social media channels including consistent/regular monitoring and responses to comments in a timely manner.

    External Relations

    • Collaborate with the VP, Advancement and External Relations to create and design branded outreach materials including flyers, postcards, email campaigns, and other content.
    • Support the creation of a yearly Annual Report.
    • Ensure consistency in Fishing Partnership’s brand voice, style, and messaging across all content.
    • Write and submit press releases to various external partners.
    • Grow and maintain relationships with local and regional press.

    Department-Based Administrative Support

    • Maintain up-to-date departmental manuals and files.
    • Maintain a database of photography for use in various publications in accordance with FPSS policies.
    • Provide ongoing review of the Fishing Partnership website for accuracy of information, new information and site improvements.
    • Manage weekly administrative tasks for Advancement & External Relations projects, reporting any items needing attention in a timely manner to the VP.
    • Assist in department project management by tracking deadlines, facilitating communication, preparation of agendas, calendar management, and note taking.
    • Support the editing and review of department documents including letters, outreach materials, and other external communications.
    • Provide support for Advancement and External Relations Department events to ensure smooth operations before, during, and after events which may include preparing event materials, such as signage, programs, and attendee lists.
    • Support tracking event budgets and assist in managing expenses.
    • Adapt to changing internal priorities and provide ongoing support, as needed, to ensure smooth operations related to the Advancement and External Relations Department.

    REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience Requirement(s):

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or an Associate’s degree with an additional 2+ years of experience, or commensurate employment experience.
    • 2-3 years’ work experience.
    • Knowledge of principles and practice of office management.
    • Experience with Canva or similar design software.
    • Creativity and graphic design knowledge.
    • Experience with up-to-date industry knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

      • Operates in a professional hybrid environment with travel to local offices, community partners, and events, as needed.
      • Able to transport up to 50 lbs.
      • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
      • Fishing Partnership’s core office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, subject to modification based on the needs of each program or site. Individual hours will be discussed and agreed upon hire.

    Work Location: This position is hybrid based at a home office. The candidate must have the ability to and means for field travel 1-3 times per month.
