    Description

We are actively recruiting for a Director for Congregational Development & Networking for the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut, known as the Episcopal Church in Connecticut (ECCT). ECCT provides oversight and administrative support for over 150 Episcopal parishes on behalf of the approximately 50,000 Episcopalians living in the state.

Reporting directly to the Canon for Congregations & Transitions, the Director for Congregational Development & Networking will work with Region Leadership Teams and existing and emerging Ministry Networks. The Director will engage, support, and deepen existing collaborative efforts while fostering new endeavors among congregations and across Regions. The Director will also assist the Canon for Congregations & Transitions in building a team of congregational consultants—lay and ordained leaders with specific areas of expertise (Conflict, Clergy Transitions, Diversity & Equity, Finance, and Buildings & Grounds)—to strengthen lay and clergy leaders in those critical areas of growth that may arise within the life of the congregation. In addition, the Director will guide parishes and worshipping communities of all sizes and locations by exploring and identifying creative and innovative practices to equip and expand faithful, healthy, and effective faith communities as the local expression of the Body of Christ.

Applicants should be either an ordained Episcopalian in good standing with strong and demonstrable congregational experience or a confirmed communicant in good standing active in an Episcopal congregation with similar levels of congregational experience. They should have at least a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree a plus) and at least five years of experience working in a nonprofit or congregational setting. Further, they should be a person of prayer, deeply formed in the Episcopal tradition, a follower of Jesus, and a creative person able to participate with ECCT, its bishops and lay and ordained leaders, as together we discern where God is leading us and how to join Jesus in changing the world.

Please see the job posting on ECCT's website for further details regarding job responsibilities and qualifications sought.
