    Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is a US-based, global public health organization with a mission to prevent 100 million deaths from heart disease and to make the world safer from epidemics. Since 2017, Resolve to Save Lives has partnered with low-and middle-income country governments, multilateral agencies, academic and other civil society partners, and communities to implement policies and programs to treat and control hypertension, reduce sodium intake, eliminate artificial trans fats, and strengthen systems for epidemic prevention.

    Position Summary

    Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Development to support our ambitious fundraising efforts and strengthen donor engagement. This position is critical in helping RTSL secure new funding, cultivate long-term relationships with existing partners, and support the organization’s strategic growth.

    Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Senior Manager of Development will lead efforts to manage a portfolio of prospective and current donors, develop tailored engagement strategies, and oversee the preparation of proposals and donor communications. The Senior Manager will work closely with internal teams to align efforts in cultivating partnerships, coordinating reports and field visits, and maintaining clear, ongoing communication with donors to highlight the impact of their contributions.

    This position is open to remote employment for candidates based in the US.

    Core Responsibilities

    Donor Engagement:

    • Manage a portfolio of prospective and existing donors, ensuring strong, long-term relationships through regular communication and tailored engagement strategies.
    • Develop and implement personalized donor engagement plans to secure new funding and deepen relationships with current donors.
    • Lead the preparation and submission of proposals, ensuring alignment with donor interests and organizational priorities.
    • Support the development of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements to formalize partnerships and collaborations.

    Donor Stewardship:

    • Steward relationships within the portfolio by coordinating activities such as field visits, joint communications, and public acknowledgments, ensuring donors are fully engaged and informed about RTSL’s impact.
    • Work closely with Communications and Programs teams to deliver high-quality reports and updates to donors, highlighting the outcomes and effectiveness of their contributions.

    Strategic Fundraising Initiatives:

    • Lead cross-cutting strategic fundraising initiatives related to specific topics (e.g., cardiovascular health or epidemic preparedness) and/or geographies (e.g., regional funding markets in the Middle East or Asia).
    • Identify new funding opportunities that align with RTSL’s strategic goals and mission, collaborating with internal teams to develop compelling value propositions and concept notes.

    Internal Coordination and Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and leadership to ensure fundraising efforts align with RTSL’s overall strategy and priorities.
    • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Programs, Finance, Communications) to ensure a unified approach to donor engagement and strategic fundraising activities.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM system, tracking all interactions and engagement efforts.

    External Representation:

    • Represent RTSL at donor meetings, conferences, and other external events, strengthening relationships and enhancing the visibility of RTSL’s mission and impact.
    • Serve as a key spokesperson for RTSL’s fundraising efforts, effectively communicating the organization’s strategic vision and outcomes to donors.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Master’s degree or other advanced degree in a related field is a plus.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising, development, account management or business development within a global health, public health, nonprofit or international development context.
    • Demonstrated success in managing donor portfolios and securing significant funding, particularly in securing institutional funding and major gifts.
    • Proven track record of developing successful donor proposals and managing donor relationships.
    • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in using CRM systems and managing donor data.

    Skills & abilities:

    • Ability to work independently and with others, with a high degree of initiative, organization, and attention to detail.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into compelling proposals and updates.
    • Skilled in public speaking and presentation to effectively represent the organization and convey RTSL’s mission and impact to diverse audiences.
    • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors and colleagues.
    • Enthusiasm for the mission of Resolve to Save Lives and a strong commitment to the communities we serve.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality work.
    • Competency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with media monitoring platforms (Cision, Meltwater, or Critical Mention).
    • Ability to commit to approximately 20% travel.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with global health, public health, or advocacy issues
    • French and/or Arabic fluency is a plus
