The mission of Metanoia is to deliver a model program of recovery and rehabilitation for
female youth victims of human trafficking.
Summary
The Development Director creates and implements a strategic fund development plan to meet
Metanoia’s short- and long-term needs. This position collaborates with internal and external
partners and stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, committees, and volunteers to
execute successful fundraising initiatives. The incumbent will be expected to build relationships
that will advance Metanoia’s programming, which fosters recovery and rehabilitation for human
trafficking victims. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position requires a strong sense of
ingenuity and self-guidance. This position will occasionally interact with the residents, service
providers, and administrative staff to promote a cohesive team.
Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, and participate in solicitation efforts for annual, major, planned, and
principal gifts from new and existing supporters of Metanoia. Solicitation efforts will vary
to include in-person, email, social media, and phone communications.
Encourage recurring giving, multi-year commitments, and estate planning.
Enhance relationships established through the Board of Directors and other Metanoia
supporters and maintain identifying information for fundraising support.
Provide an excellent donor experience through customer service, active listening,
inclusive language, and thoughtful and persuasive discussion, consistently upholding the
integrity and mission of Metanoia.
Plan and coordinate fundraising activities and events while engaging the support of the
Board of Directors and other volunteers. This includes coordinating an annual gala,
which is a significant revenue source.
Responsible for managing donor databases and maintaining effective donor
communication strategies.
Communicate Metanoia’s impact using data, client testimonials, and storytelling.
Ensure prompt receipt and acknowledgement of all donations.
Assist with the creation and implementation of promotional materials to support
fundraising, raise awareness of the organization, and educate donors.
Support administrative duties to include branding, social media, and website
maintenance, bank transactions, tasks within the community, and other duties as
assigned and/or needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required.
Minimum of 5 years fundraising experience required.
CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) preferred.
Experience in a youth-based, nonprofit environment preferred.
Satisfactory background check and completion of licensing requirements.
Other requirements:
The Development Director should have a proven track record in relationship
development, nonprofit fundraising, community outreach, or a related field.
Organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and flexibility in work structure
and time management.
Familiarity with donor databases and fundraising software.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of current and effective fundraising strategies and donor relations.
