    Description

    The South Bronx Charter School for International Cultures and the Arts is seeking an in-person Spanish teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong interpersonal skills that contribute to a collegial working environment.
    • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area required
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Classroom teaching experience required
    • A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture
    • A strong desire to become a better teacher by joining the SBCSICA team

    Responsibilities:

    • Teaching and planning a rigorous curriculum which combines the school’s standards and the New York State standards
    • Teaching students in a high-quality, exciting way
    • Committing to constant professional and personal growth through working closely as part of a team of teachers
    • Using data to drive instruction
    • Constantly assessing student progress, and communicating results to families and colleagues
    • Providing individual or small group instruction for students who need additional assistance
    • Modeling a “whatever it takes” spirit to ensure that each student is successful
    • Modeling the school’s values in all communications with students, families, and staff
    • *Salary is Commensurate with Experience**

    Education:

    • Bachelor's (Required)
    • Master's (Preferred)
    • 2 years (Required)

    License/Certification:

    • Certification in Content Area (Required)

    Job Type: Full-time

    Schedule:

    • 8-hour shift

    Ability to commute/relocate:

    • Bronx, NY 10454: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
