    Description

    The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is seeking one talented communications professional to support our global mission in addressing transportation sector impacts on climate change and public health. The selected candidate will be hired as either a Communications Specialist or Senior Communications Specialist, depending on experience and qualifications. This position can be based in São Paulo or San Francisco, offering flexibility for exceptional candidates across these locations.

    Position Levels:

    • Communications Specialist
    • Senior Communications Specialist

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategic communications plans for Spanish-speaking countries
    • Conduct media outreach and build relationships with media outlets
    • Manage digital assets and social media channels for Latin America
    • Monitor and report on the regional information ecosystem
    • Produce and edit research publications and supporting outreach materials
    • Organize virtual and in-person events
    • Track communication metrics
    • Serve as a liaison between research staff and global communications team

    Qualifications:

    Communications Specialist Level:

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or public relations
    • 2-4 years of relevant communications experience
    • Strong writing and communication skills
    • Basic experience in media outreach and communications campaigns

    Senior Communications Specialist Level:

    • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)
    • At least 5 years of communications experience
    • Demonstrated expertise in developing strategic communication initiatives
    • Proven track record of complex media and communications management

    Required for Both Levels:

    • Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken
    • Ability to communicate technical information effectively
    • Experience with digital communications and social media
    • Preferred background in transportation, climate policy, or environmental sciences

    Our Benefits  

    This full-time position will be based in our San Francisco, CA office and offers a salary of $93,000 (Communications Specialist) or $107,900 (Senior Communications Specialist). We offer an excellent benefits package, including health insurance, substantial paid vacation, retirement contribution with a generous 7% employer contribution, transportation subsidies, and other benefits.
