    Grantmakers In Health (GIH) is looking for a seasoned equity professional who enjoys working across internal teams and with philanthropic stakeholders to improve health outcomes for all. The Senior Advisor for Health Equity will draw upon a deep knowledge of equity and inclusion, public health and policy, and the field of health philanthropy to achieve GIH strategic objectives, drive organizational growth and revenue, and support GIH Funding Partners.

    We are looking for someone with:

      • Substantive experience helping organizations incorporate equity into their programmatic work and internal processes.
      • Experience developing health equity programs for nonprofits, government agencies, or foundations.
      • Experience in policy and advocacy at the local, state, or federal level.
      • Experience in research, data analysis, report writing and presentations.
      • Experience in building partnerships and forming and managing coalitions across sectors.
      • Excellent verbal and written communications and facilitation skills.
      • Experience designing and writing funding proposals and liaising with funders.
      • A graduate degree and at least five years of relevant work experience or a bachelor's degree and at least seven years of relevant work experience.

Our mission is to foster communication and collaboration among grantmakers and others, and to help strengthen the grantmaking community's knowledge, skills, and effectiveness.

    The Senior Advisor for Health Equity will:

    • Report to the President and CEO.
    • Work with all GIH teams (Programs, Communications, Development, and Finance and Administration) to ensure that organizational programming and strategy are anchored in equity and inclusion.
    • Provide support to Funding Partners to advance their diversity efforts, through strategic guidance, webinars, publications and in-person meetings.
    • Partner with other philanthropy support organizations and stakeholders to advance equity and inclusion efforts within philanthropy.

    Represent GIH externally by effectively communicating about GIH, highlighting the work of health philanthropy, giving presentations, and collaborating with grantmakers and other organizations.

      • A competitive salary of $135,000 to $165,000 based on experience.
      • Paid vacation, personal, and sick leave to encourage work life balance and a generous benefits package.
