    Position Summary

    NorthStar Church of the Arts seeks a Donor & Digital Coordinator to enhance stakeholder engagement, increase visibility, and support fundraising initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will play a key role in advancing NorthStar’s mission through targeted digital communications and donor development.

    As part of a capacity-building project, this grant-funded, part-time contract position (January 2025–June 2026) will enhance NorthStar’s growth by managing digital outreach, supporting fundraising campaigns, and cultivating donor relationships. Primarily remote, this role will require occasional in-person attendance at events and meetings.

    Key Responsibilities

    Communications & Marketing:

    • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and execute a social media strategy.
    • Create and manage digital and print promotional materials to engage the Durham community.
    • Work with a media producer to develop content that amplifies NorthStar’s mission and highlights its programs and artists.

    Development & Fundraising:

    • Manage the administrative tasks of fundraising campaigns, including growing individual donors, securing corporate partnerships, and encouraging recurring contributions.
    • Assist with planning a 2026 capital campaign, focusing on donor cultivation and sustainability.
    • Research new funding opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing donors.
    • Track fundraising goals and prepare performance reports.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build connections with local businesses, organizations, and individuals to expand NorthStar’s network.
    • Support collaboration with the Operations & Outreach Coordinator to host open house events and community gatherings.

    Administrative & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate donor records using DonorPerfect or similar CRM systems.
    • Prepare fundraising reports for the Executive Director and board.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in nonprofit communications, development, or social media management.
    • Proficiency with social media platforms and content strategies, with a record of driving engagement.
    • Familiarity with donor management systems (DonorPerfect experience is a plus).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging, mission-aligned content.
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Passion for the arts, social justice, and community-centered work.
    • Availability for select in-person events and meetings.
