    Description

    Title: Trainer

    Reports to: Training Institute Director

    Purpose: To provide training and technical assistance activities on behalf of ICASA

    Classification: Exempt

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Trainer will perform duties related to all ICASA training and technical assistance activities and meetings.

    Training and Technical Assistance

    • Assess and develop training and technical assistance capacity in response to center requests and/or requirements of funders.
    • Provide on-site and web-based, content-specific training for ICASA Rape Crisis Center staff and allied professionals. Moderate ICASA webinars and virtual trainings as needed.
    • Provide on-site presence at trainings as needed for registration assistance, presenter introductions and assistance, oversight of audio-visual and any on-site issues as they arise.
    • Provide on-site and by e-mail or phone, content-specific technical assistance to centers.
    • Research and identify potential diverse and inclusive presenters and make contact to formally invite and discuss the training with potential trainers once a selection is made. Provide information to support staff to complete confirmation logistics.
    • Assist in promoting, creating and maintaining accessible trainings to the fullest extent possible.

    Other

    • Participate in ICASA Social Justice and Training Committee and other Committees, Caucuses or Task Forces as needed.
    • Assist with regional meetings as needed.
    • Perform other duties as may be necessary or assigned by the Training Institute Director, Chief of Staff or Chief Executive Officer.
    • Adhere to the philosophy and policies of the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Education or related field and/or related experience.
    • Experience: Experience in training and/or education, training curriculum development, word processing, presentation software and other computer skills.
    • Job Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in project coordination. Superior organizational skills. Strong writing skills and skills as a presenter. Familiarity with sexual assault issues from a victim-centered feminist perspective.
    • Other Requirements: The selected candidate will complete ICASA’s 40-hour training. Ability to travel; ability to transport applicable training/audio-visual equipment; have own means of transportation. Overnight travel required.

    Insurance

    Includes medical, dental, disability and life insurance. ICASA does not pay for medical insurance for an employee's dependent(s).

    ICASA administers supplemental insurance plans for its employees (AFLAC). Participation in the plans is voluntary. One plan includes accident, hospital confinement and cancer coverage. Payments to this plan are pre-tax premiums. Another plan includes life insurance coverage. Payments to this plan are after-tax premiums.

    Retirement Plan

    SEPP – ICASA provides a retirement plan for its employees. The vesting time for an ICASA employee to earn the benefit of the retirement plan is eighteen months. The employee will become eligible at a given date within the calendar year and benefits will be contributed for that entire year. ICASA’s payment into the employee’s retirement plan is based on the employee’s annual salary.

    403(b) ICASA offers to administer a 403(b) retirement plan for its employees. ICASA will withhold pay from the employees’ paycheck as determined by the employee and send such pay to the designated investor.

    Health Related Leave: Health Related Leave is accrued at a rate of 8 hours per month and may accrue up to 45 days of leave time.

    Vacation: Full time employees will accrue vacation days as follows:

    0-2nd anniversary 15 days

    2nd – 5th anniversary 20 days

    5th – 10th anniversary 25 days

    10th anniversary and beyond 30 days

    Earned vacation will be credited to employees on a monthly basis.

    Holidays/Optional Holidays/Personal Leave

    ICASA provides employees with 11 standard holidays. In addition, you will receive two optional holidays and three personal days per calendar year.
