    JOB MISSION

    The Career Connections Manager focuses on building robust career opportunities for students by fostering partnerships with employers, managing a network of volunteer Career Coaches, and providing individualized career guidance. This dynamic and critical role bridges the gap between students’ aspirations and the professional world by facilitating meaningful connections and developing innovative programming to support career readiness and success. The Career Connections Manager collaborates with teams across the organization to cultivate strategic partnerships and deliver outcomes focused student services.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & RESULTS

    VOLUNTEER CAREER COACH MANAGEMENT

    • Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteer Career Coaches to support students in career planning and job search strategies.
    • Design and deliver training programs to ensure Career Coaches are equipped to provide effective resume and application support, career advice, and networking assistance.
    • Match students with Career Coaches based on their career goals, ensuring a personalized and impactful coaching experience.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Career Coach contributions and provide ongoing support.

    EMPLOYER PARTNERSHIPS

    • Identify, establish, and cultivate partnerships with employers across industries to secure internship and job opportunities for students.
    • Serve as a point of contact for employer partners, maintaining ongoing relationships and promoting the value of hiring students.
    • Develop and implement strategies to engage employers in recruitment initiatives.
    • Track employment trends and align partnerships with students’ career interests and labor market demands.
    • Identify and attend local hiring and industry conferences.

    STUDENT COACHING

    • Connect students with relevant employer partners and Career Coaches to expand their professional networks.
    • Provide personalized guidance and resources to help students navigate their career paths, including job search strategies, resume building, and interview preparation.

    CAREER CLUBS AND EVENT COORDINATION

    • Collaborate with YPIE’s staff and volunteer Career Coaches to plan and facilitate industry- specific career events.
    • Organize and execute site visits, virtual and in-person panels, job fairs, and networking sessions to connect students and alumni with professionals in their desired fields.
    • Ensure events are designed to provide students with meaningful opportunities to gain industry insights, explore career pathways, and learn about available internships and job openings.
    • Partner with employer partners and Career Coaches to align events with students’ career interests and goals.
    • Promote events to maximize participation and engagement among students and alumni.

    PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION & RECRUITMENT

    • Maintain an up-to-date professional network database of employers, hiring partners, and alumni interested in offering advice, mentorship, or job opportunities to high school and college students. Ensure this resource is accessible to students and graduates as needed.
    • Manage student records and leverage data systems to proactively identify and address student challenges and concerns.
    • Oversee relevant program logistics, including timelines, deliverables, and communications with key stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
    • Recruit a new cohort of YPIE Career Connections students annually, utilizing outreach strategies to engage and inspire participation.
    • Collect and analyze data to measure program impact, track employer partnerships, and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for continuous improvement.

    CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

    Eligible applicants will possess:

    • Ability to navigate partnerships with diverse stakeholders (employers, students, and volunteers)
    • Experience with & passion for YPIE’s mission of ensuring equity for a diverse student population
    • Flexibility working some evening/weekend hours for networking events & as student needs arise
    • Strong networking, relationship-building, and communication skills
    • Proven organizational and project management skills with attention to detail

    • Demonstrated experience managing volunteers and leading training programs

    Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000
