    ABOUT THE POSITION

    The Partnership is seeking a self-motivated and results-driven Manager of Institutional Giving to provide strategic support in its private and public fundraising efforts. The Manager of Institutional Giving will serve as a key member of the organization’s Development Team, and will oversee grant management, facilitate grantmaking and reports, manage logistics for events and meetings related to fundraising and stewardship, and oversee the administration of incoming gifts. The Manager of Institutional Giving will act as a liaison between the Development, Finance, and Program Teams, creating consistent lines of communication to ensure the Partnership delivers on the goals, objectives, and activities outlined in grant proposals, while also sharing the Partnership’s impact with funders by submitting reports in a timely manner. In addition, the Manager of Institutional Giving assists with general fundraising activities, including prospective and current donor research, preparation of briefs for donor meetings, donation and acknowledgment processing, communications, and event support. The Manager of Institutional Giving reports directly to the Senior Director of Institutional Giving. This is a full-time, year-round position. This is a full-time, year-round position.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Grant Management (60%)

    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward strategic and mission-aligned grant opportunities
    • Manage the grant writing and submission process, including writing grant proposals, developing grant budgets, and compiling supplemental materials such as organizational and school-site data and financial information
    • Oversee grant agreements, reporting, and documentation, ensuring compliance with individual grant requirements
    • Implement and monitor grant management tracking and calendar systems to ensure timely and accurate submissions to funders
    • Oversee the facilitation of grants across teams and functions through meeting facilitation, project management, and cross-team communication
    • Maintain an organized electronic filing system for all aspects of the grants cycle, including grant application materials, agreements and disbursements, correspondence with funders, and program materials related to grants
    • Collaborate with the Finance Team to oversee tracking of grant funding and allocation to award budgets

    Development Admin (30%)

    • Support donor prospecting through research on mission-aligned foundations, corporations, and individuals with giving potential
    • Oversee Development Team data management, including grant awards, proposals, and contact information of funders, donors, and prospective donors
    • Generate donor acknowledgement letters and other correspondence, as needed
    • Maintain internal financial records related to funding and collaborate with the Finance Team on financial reconciliation and the annual audit
    • Prepare presentations, briefing documents, and other materials for fundraising meetings
    • Prepare and submit grant agreements in a timely and accurate manner
    • Keep informed of best practices in philanthropy and fundraising, and implement improvements to the Partnership’s grants management process, systems, and overall fundraising strategies
    • Assist with Development and fundraising-related website and newsletter updates
    • Provide additional support to the Development Team, as needed or assigned

    Events & Engagement (10%)

    • Support project management and day-of logistics for fundraising events, corporate events, and donor meetings, including school visits and days of service
    • Represent the Partnership while engaging with foundations, corporations, and other nonprofits
    • Assist in planning and communications with fundraising campaigns

    POSITION FIRST-YEAR PRIORITIES

    A successful first year in this role will look like:

    • The Manager will successfully identify and cultivate at least 10 new mission-aligned grant opportunities, submitting compelling proposals with a target success rate of at least 50%. They will also ensure that 100% of grant proposals and reports are submitted on time and align with funder expectations.
    • Implement and refine a comprehensive grant tracking and calendar system to ensure seamless communication, compliance, and collaboration across the Development, Finance, and Program Teams. The system should be fully operational and support all active grants by fiscal year-end (June 30, 2025).
    • Build and maintain relationships with funders by coordinating and delivering at least 8 high-quality stewardship reports, funder updates, and engagement opportunities such as school visits or events, contributing to a donor retention rate of 80% or higher.
    • Integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) principles into grant narratives and donor engagement strategies, ensuring all communications reflect the values and mission of the Partnership.

    REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • At least 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and development, or related field of work
    • Previous experience with grant writing, solicitation, management, and reporting is strongly preferred
    • Experience with data collection and integration into the grant cycle
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and succinctly
    • Excellent organization and coordination skills with high attention to detail
    • Strong project management skills required and experience using project management tools (ex: Asana, Trello, Monday )
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
    • Proficiency in database management is a plus (The Partnership uses Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT)
    • Adaptable with shifting priorities and competing demands
    • Ability to work collaboratively across differences in work styles and skill sets
    • Strong computer and technology skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • The ability to travel between school sites and Partnership home office
    • Spanish language fluency (spoken and written), preferred
    • Working understanding of K-12 public education sector, preferred

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

    The starting salary range for external candidates is $76,606-$82,079. The Partnership’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion extends to our compensation practices. The exact salary for this position is set through the Partnership’s compensation policy and is dependent on the candidate’s relevant skills, experiences, and organizational tenure.
