    This position is PT, 25-30 hours per week.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Cooper Union’s Retraining Program for Immigrant Engineers (RPIE) is a free professional development opportunity that supports immigrant, refugee, and asylee engineers as they build a competitive portfolio to equip them for the professional workforce and the career they want. RPIE fosters a supportive community and empowers participants to activate their past experience as they develop the skills most in-demand in today’s market. The Program has two primary components: a technical curriculum that allows participants to develop in-demand engineering skills, gain US experience, and prepare for certification exams; and a robust professional development sequence that encourages participants to build individually-tailored career strategies and strengthen the soft skills required for leading industries.

    RPIE’s Program Administrator is responsible for developing and maintaining RPIE’s filing and record system. The Administrator coordinates updates and communication for all RPIE Initiatives, including course scheduling for outreach events, RPIE’s lecture and networking series, workshops, and other events; maintains program communication with prospective, current, and past participants through the RPIE email account; maintains program records including participant records, survey results, data collection, and industry reports; and collects instructor materials including but not limited to syllabi, bio, and resources. With the RPIE staff, the Program Administrator manages data, attendance, and tracks performance benchmarks for different RPIE initiatives.

    RPIE participants represent over forty nationalities and have backgrounds in thirty engineering specializations, including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Chemical engineering, as well as architecture, IT, and programming. All participants enter with at least an undergraduate degree, and 35% have an advanced degree. Over 60% of participants have substantial previous professional experience.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Expand, maintain, and organize RPIE outreach
    • Coordinate across RPIE initiatives including outreach, lecture series, workshops, among other initiatives.
    • Manage program communication (RPIE email), including with prospective participants, current, and past participants
    • Offer basic IT support (sharing email access instructions, navigating Teams, etc)
    • Maintain program records including surveys, data, Record of Completion, participant records, etc
    • Collect and maintain program attendance
    • Schedule events and reserve rooms
    • Create and distribute Record of Completions
    • Review Participant Applications
    • With RPIE staff support, collect and maintain attendance
    • Maintain RPIE schedule
    • Maintain communications for RPIE’s LinkedIn and website presence
    • Distribute program communications
    • Collect and maintain instructor syllabi, profile, biography
    • Support program initiatives as needed
    • Support RPIE staff as needed
    • Industry, partner, and skill research as needed

    SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

    • Project management experience
    • Outstanding communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Problem-solver and creative thinker
    • Proficiency with MS Office
    • Proficiency with Excel
    • Familiarity with MS Team preferred

    EDUCATION

    • BA degree or equivalent
