    Description

    ABOUT THE ROLE

As Outreach & Engagement Manager, you are responsible for promoting the reach and impact of Threshold and Amy Martin. You are passionate about bringing people together to think deeply about our ecological situation, and you have the skills to make it happen. As our official opportunity-finder, networker, and promoter in chief, you build community through multiple channels, including events, partnerships, media outreach, and online forums. You define and execute strategies to find, engage, and retain an audience, and forge strong relationships with a wide variety of professionals, organizations, and media outlets, driving greater awareness for Threshold, Amy Martin, and the issues at the heart of our work.

    ABOUT YOU

You are an enthusiastic and proactive networker. You constantly scan the landscape for creative opportunities, reach out to potential supporters and partners, and stay on top of what’s happening in our sphere of influence. You know the organizations, institutions, and thought leaders in the climate and environment space, and can successfully cultivate relationships to generate awareness through collaborations, partnerships, and publicity.

You are an excellent communicator. In writing and conversation, you are skilled at tuning in to others and getting your ideas across effectively. You can confidently translate the meaning and value of our work to audiences in a variety of contexts. You understand the importance of story, and the role it plays in facing and addressing our converging ecological crises.

You know how to sell our expanding body of work, crafting and adapting pitches that create results. You can be counted on to represent our organization and our work in meetings with donors and prospective partners, other media outlets, and event organizers. You can define and effectively capture the elements of a brand identity, communicate with a compelling tone and voice, and be the reliable final pair of eyes on all external communications.

You understand the business and mechanics of marketing, and are eager to apply that knowledge in service of your values. You can create clear strategies and tie them to specific goals and measurement methods. You’ve already developed tried and true skills, but are also eager to experiment and create new ways to make our work more visible and bring more people together around sustainability, environmental justice, and planetary health.
