    Description

    Victory Seeks Marketing Manager to support Victory’s Communication Efforts

    Join our team and help LGBTQ candidates win big!

    Summary

    For over three decades, LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and LGBTQ+ Victory Institute have helped to train, place, and elect thousands of openly LGBTQ+ public officials at every level of government. Our leaders have been catalysts for expanding legal rights for LGBTQ+ people across the country, and they have transformed our nation’s policies and shifted our political landscape towards equality, one election at a time. Today, over 1200 LGBTQ+ Americans are serving in elected office due to the work of Victory. Victory’s work continues as LGBTQ+ people are severely underrepresented in all levels of government – serving in only 0.23% of all elected offices in the United States.

    LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and LGBTQ+ Victory Institute are seeking a Marketing Manager who will work directly with all members of the Communications Team and report to the Creative Director. The Marketing Manager will play a key role in the success of LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and Institute, working across teams to further the marketing goals of the organizations.

    General Responsibilities

    • Work with other team members and vendors to develop collateral used to promote Victory’s events, programs and fundraising efforts;
    • Proactively seek opportunities to develop and provide new and/or updated marketing materials to teams across the organization;
    • Create graphics for digital and print;
    • Ensure Victory’s messaging and brand standards are used consistently on all external materials and digital platforms;
    • Develop assets, copy and strategy for Victory’s digital campaigns, including emails, social media toolkits and digital ads;
    • Write, edit, format and publish content on Victory’s websites, including candidate profiles, blog posts and program information;
    • Proactively work to ensure website content is up-to-date and reflects the branding and messaging of the organization;
    • Support Victory’s research efforts by designing and editing reports, and developing promotional campaigns;
    • Identify and engage influencers and supporters to promote Victory on social media;
    • Regularly evaluate key metrics of success and provide updates to the Communications Team.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, plus two to four years’ experience in marketing, communications and/or graphic design; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience;
    • Exceptional writing, proofreading and editing skills;
    • Up-to-date knowledge of marketing best practices;
    • Keen eye for design and experience implementing and enforcing organizational brand standards;
    • Understanding of social media and mass email tools;
    • Interest in and knowledge of the LGBTQ movement and U.S. politics;
    • Proficiency in the Adobe suite (particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign);
    • Additional consideration will be given to applicants with video editing experience; knowledge of CRMs; and bilingual fluency.
