    About the National Network of Teachers of the Year: Founded in 1980, the National Network of Teachers of the Year (NNSTOY) is a non-profit, bi-partisan network of finalists and awardees of State Teacher of the Year with a history of driving initiatives to improve policy and practice on behalf all students. We are a diverse group of educators who teach and lead in communities in every state and some U.S. territories and represent every subject area. We strive to raise the collective and credible voice of teachers everywhere and to support policies and practices that advance teacher leadership, educator effectiveness, and the conditions, capacity, and culture necessary to support great teaching and learning for all students.

    The Position of Coordinator of Member Services and Initiatives:

    This position leads the overall efforts to recruit, engage, and retain members and is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading initiatives in support of the members of the NNSTOY. This position drives the member value, experience, inclusion, and growth of NNSTOY’s membership. It serves as the membership liaison to build a strong membership culture. Providing the highest level of service to our members, this position reports to the President & CEO.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Collaborate with the President & CEO and key stakeholders to:
      • Create a roadmap for sustainable membership growth.
      • Establish short- and long-range plans and goals to achieve organization membership objectives.
      • Develop strategies and programs to stimulate member engagement as a means of membership recruitment, growth, and retention.
      • In cooperation with members and NNSTOY leadership, this position identifies services and develops the content and scope of service programs.
      • Oversee all membership data, tracking and reporting, including but not limited to:
      • Assure accurate membership records.
      • Analyze membership trends by regions, states and territories.
      • Create recruitment and retention reports.
      • Update current, new and prospective member information.
      • Support member experience throughout qualification, contact, joining, involvement, engagement and renewal process.
    • Coordinate the activities of the organization’s member components (e.g., chapters, affiliates, etc.).
    • Engage in member communication strategies, including but not limited to, monthly development and dissemination of the member newsletter, social media, and other communications needs.
      • Work with both staff and members to develop and manage processes for feedback on NNSTOY membership, programs, and services.
      • Initiate and manage partnerships with other related associations and groups to help recruitment and retention of members; including, but not limited to, attendance at these types of conferences to represent the association.
      • Conducts all business at the highest standard of integrity.

    Work Environment: This is full-time, remote position. While the hours are flexible, it is expected that the position will be available during typical workday hours, and some evenings and weekends hour may be required. At this time, NNSTOY does not offer Visa sponsorship for employment.

    Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.

    Benefits

    • Salary: $55,000 annually

    Qualifications: This position requires the ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with a diverse, multicultural environment.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • Minimum of three years of experience in membership or constituent management position preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in growing membership and strengthening membership retention.
    • An understanding of the education industry.
    • Demonstrate problem-solving skills with stakeholders, anticipate needs, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Experience with database management. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience with social media e-newsletter communications.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to high level of customer service and member engagement.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in to effectively interact with members and partners outside the organization.
    • Ability to travel to represent NNSTOY at professional conferences, leadership meetings, and in the normal course of membership development activities, when necessary.
