    Description

    Position Overview

    The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) provides direct services to students with communicative disorders including diagnostic and related supports. The SLPA ensures accurate documentation and supports scheduling related to student services and screenings. The SLPA reports to the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).

    Performance Responsibilities

    • Uses a variety of screening tools and protocols; manages screenings
    • Develops schedules for student services that align with IEP services
    • Differentiates/develops lessons to meet students’ needs with guidance from SLP
    • Works with students individually and in small groups in service of speech-language IEP goals
    • Maintains student progress documentation
    • Consults with SLP when student progress is not consistent
    • Supports the general education teacher in use of strategies aligned to students’ IEP goals
    • Participates in training and learning opportunities, as appropriate and available.
    • Adheres to ethical standards and codes of the profession and to the established rules, regulations, and laws governing Special Education programs
    • Prepares various reports as designated by the SLP or Regional Director
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Experience, Education, and Credentials

    • Current registration as an SLPA with the State of California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board, required.
    • Experience as a speech language pathologist assistant, preferred.
    • Experience in K-8 education, preferred.
    • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
    • Valid California Driver License.
    • Fingerprint criminal background clearance.
    • Tuberculosis clearance.

    Classification

    This is a 10 month exempt position based on the school year and supports our campus in Coachella.

    Compensation

    Imagine Schools offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience (between $62,000 - $75,000) as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and California retirement contributions.
