    Position Summary: The Grant Manager is a member of the Finance team. This role will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, managing the grant application process, developing budgets, monitoring budgets versus actual results, preparing and submitting financial & non-financial reporting, and analyzing financial data. The ideal candidate has a firm understanding of non-profit fundraising strategies, possesses excellent written & verbal communication skills, has a proven record of successful grant management, and an understanding of state & federal reporting requirements.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet the changing needs of CONNSTEP and the Finance department.

    Grant Management:

    • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with CONNSTEP’s mission.
    • Verify all documentation meets funder expectations and adheres to requirements.
    • Ensure timely submission of applications with all required supporting documentation.
    • Forecast the financial status of current awards through the entire period of performance to ensure proper expenditure of funds awarded.
    • Submit budget revisions and other change requests as appropriate.

    Reporting:

    • Coordinate with various departments to compile non-financial data for reporting purposes.
    • Track grant expenditures and prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain a system of grant information, progress reports, and calendar of reporting requirements.
    • Ensure timely submission of all financial & non-financial reporting following the process required by each funder.

    Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the electronic code of federal regulations (2 CFR 200) for federal awards.
    • Review award agreements to identify potential compliance concerns.
    • Assist with documentation preparation for annual audit process.
    • Conduct grant-funded program evaluations to measure success and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
    • Provide guidance and support to project teams on grant management and compliance.
    • Maintain knowledge of best practices & changes in requirements for grant funding policies and procedures.

    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Proven experience as a Grants Manager or similar role, ideally in a non-profit environment.
    • An understanding of state & federal reporting requirements, including 2 CFR 200.
    • An understanding of direct & indirect costs, expense allocation methodologies.
    • Experience in researching and applying for funding opportunities.
    • Excellent knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to non-profits.
    • Strong budgeting and monitoring skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks Online, and Salesforce (or comparable software applications).
    • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Non-Profit Administration (or equivalent experience).
