    Description

    Do you love bringing people together and all the details around planning events? Do you consider yourself scrupulous about every detail when tackling a problem? Do you enjoy solving problems and working with a team to find creative solutions? Are you a creative risk taker and want to try innovative ideas? If so, we are seeking an Events Producer to join our team to plan, organize, manage, and oversee events according to the Amplify Latinx annual projects and events calendar. The Events Producer will be guided by our strategic and operational plans and will be responsible for planning, managing and leading the execution of the organization’s events on time and with the expected quality.

    The ideal candidate will be creative, and proactive, and demonstrates a passion for community service and commitment to Amplify Latinx’s vision and mission.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Plans, organizes and oversees project design and the events calendar according to the strategic plan approved by the board of directors.
    • Leads the organization and executes the approved projects and events on time, to specifications, with accuracy and efficiency. Networks with all relevant groups to maximize efforts and leverage relationships.
    • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and budgeting
    • Defines the activities and tasks involved, conducts project and event cost analysis and provides estimates.
    • Coordinates event timelines and schedules to ensure smooth execution
    • Oversee event setup and teardown. Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of the event and identify areas for improvement.

    Position Profile: Required knowledge and skills (technical and behavioral)

    Academic background and experience

    • Degree in a relevant field
    • 3 - 5 years of experience in event planning or other related field
    • Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts with vendors and suppliers
    • English speaker / Spanish proficiency helpful, but not required

    Behavioral competencies

    • Must be a self-starter, creative, and have strong organizational skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships.
    • A great sense of humor and ability to shake it off when things don't go exactly as planned.
    • Demonstrated a positive and can-do attitude, collaboration and a strong desire to work in an organization focused on the Latinx community.
    • Demonstrated time management and flexibility with job duties.
    • Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also function as a team player who will take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
    • Demonstrated maturity, highly motivated, and team-oriented, with the highest ethical standards and ability to drive results.
    • Exceptional executive presence and business acumen.

    Technical/Functional competencies

    • Knowledge of nonprofit management, governance principles and managerial best practices.
    • Experience with organizational management and the ability to mentor and develop staff and volunteers.
    • Presentation skills and events organization.
    • Demonstrated experience managing CRM platforms for membership/partner/donor tracking and creating standard operating procedures for reporting.
    • Good vendor management skills and ability to bring in new vendors for various events.
